Jump Start into Kindergarten!

Sansome Parent Council Meeting and AGM

Sansome Elementary School's Parent Council 2016-17 AGM meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 22nd at 7:00 PM.  The meeting will be held in the school library and babysitting is available.  We are always looking for more volunteers and have executive positions available for those willing.  In order to reach quorum and ensure the viability of our Parent Council, we need to have as many school community members attend as possible.  At this meeting we will be nominating and seeking approval of our 2016-17 executive members and initiating several upcoming events for the school.

Sansome Phys Ed. News

Another busy year has started for our active staff and students here at Sansome School. The following is a list of activities the students will have an opportunity to participate in very soon.

1)  Grade 4 & 5 Cross Country Team: Practices start Monday, September 19th. Practice days are Monday and Wednesdays after school starting at 4:05pm. A letter concerning our meets will go out to all participants shortly. Practices will take place rain or shine. If any student requires medication such as asthma inhalers, they must bring it with them to the club. For safety reasons students must be on time to participate. Late students will not be able to attend practice on that day!!

2)  Grade 5 Floor Hockey Club: Will take place every Tuesday at 12:25pm starting October 4th. Grade 5 students are selected by their homeroom teachers to participate in the Floor Hockey Club. The two teams are mixed with staff and students. We all have a great time playing over the lunch hour!!

3)  Terry Fox Run: This annual event will take place on Thursday, September 29th @ 11:30am. Any parents or members from the community are welcome to join us.  Our school goal is to raise $600 and we are kindly asking students to bring a “Toonie for Terry” as a donation for the Terry Fox Foundation! All students who donate will receive a draw ticket for a special prize to be raffled off at the end of the day!!

4)  Intramurals (Grades 3-5): These extra-curricular activities will start as soon as the Intramural survey is completed by Sports Council Members. It will most likely begin in early to mid-October. A co-curricular calendar will outline the dates these activities take place each month. The calendars will be sent out to classroom teachers, placed on the Sansome Blog, as well as the Phys. Ed website.

Please be sure to check it out and stay in the loop!!
